We caught up with the founder of Ottl Studios to learn more about how the business started, the challenges of growing a brand, and what it’s like being an entrepreneur at Kids Market.

Interview with Dominic Ottl
What does your business do?
Really, it’s art I post online, but selling-wise, it’s home-baked goods with my characters on them.
What inspired you to start your business?
Well, it really started with my talent of drawing (Since I was 4). Then, I learned how to do it digitally during 2019-2020. Then, Ottl Studios got started during that time, until it was recently registered in 2025! But for selling the baked goods, we started on 2022. And my 1st market here [with Kids Market] was in May 2025, in Midtown.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a young entrepreneur?
Hustling people to get my baked goods or subscribing/following for my social media. Basically, building my subscriber base!
What do you love most about being a small business owner?
Going around the market, seeing what else is being sold. I had seen some familiar faces from some previous markets. And some new ones.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone thinking of starting their own business?
It’s takes initiative and a great attitude to get going. But, in the end, it’s always great to remember why you do what you are doing here. For many reasons. Not just one. And also, it’s a TEAM EFFORT!!! (I thank my family for helping out!)
What’s a recent success or milestone that you’re proud of?
The 1st Holiday Gift Market I was in. I had to the the amount made. And I sold a lot of them. With about 9-10 remaining after both days, and gained a lot of new following on my social media. In the end, it was a success.
